Had a thought just now...you know you get magnetic l plates and p plates....why cant you get magnetic panals for the side of the car when you are parked in a car park so when the pleb who is parked next to you opens his door and whacks it onto your car, it wont damage the paintwork??????

Well you could either just not park in car parks or you could let the wombats do the damage and live with it. :D

I think it's a good idea - even if you don't have the magnetic panels just that stick on plastic sheet stuff they use on new displays etc - it wouldn't stop dents but it would prevent most scratches. :D

You're on the right track Mum - just a bit doolally!! :D

Hmmm.....most of the scratches on my car are from said plebs who have opened their door onto my expensive litter bin!!.

It is really annoying as you dont notice them unless the ruddy car is cleaned!!!. I shall have to think on this..do some research i think...if they were available..would you buy them?colour coded to your car?or with maybe a picture on them?Hmmm.....idea.....

Don't need to be colour coded - Just clear then the colour will show through. It just needs to be marginally thicker than cling film. :D

Of course once the car park owners realise you can't scratch your cars the bastards'll make the spaces even tighter!!! :D

Just get a respray with that paint developed by nissan then a little heat will make all the dings and scratches disappear just like magic!

even if you did make a protective "film" - sticking it on is another challenge! -- think about creases and air bubbles!

does paint need to breathe as-well? - new paint does, don't it?

better off parking at the back of the car park away from the couldnt care less tossers, and walk a bit further

I always do..usually loads of space there!! (more room for me to get the car in the bay right!!)

Hubby doesnt though..need a ruddy shoe horn when he parks!!

I think there's a business opportunity here...

You could sell magnetic versions with:

- Company Logos.

- England flags.

- Ford Galaxy Forum ad.

- Your own personal message, e.g. "I'm protecting my owners car from carelessly opened door damage".

- Jam sandwich design, so people always pull in to let you overtake (especially if your Gal is white).

CAn you imagine what women do to boats?!!!!!

but they've got those big bouncy things to cushion the blow , well assuming that they're above the water line anyway    I have to say though excuses like 'I turned but the boat went straight on' or 'the brakes don't' work' would be quite common   ;)
